A 3-step morning routine to help you age beautifully

This simple 3-step routine will help you start your day with vitality and keep you feeling good as you navigate your way through your fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond!

  1. Hydrate

Start your morning with a big glass of water. Staying hydrated is important for your whole body. Drinking enough water boosts gut microbial diversity – the more different bacteria present in your gut, the more resilient you are to infection and illness.1https://www.ncoa.org/article/10-reasons-why-hydration-is-important It will also aid digestion, increase brain performance, including cognition, mood and memory, help you lose weight and decrease joint pain.2https://www.ncoa.org/article/10-reasons-why-hydration-is-important

You can read more about how much water you should be drinking and why here.

  2. Use probiotic skincare

The average woman “hosts” an average of 515 unique chemicals by the time she finishes her bathroom routine in the morning. These chemicals can leach into your system and alter your DNA resulting in autoimmune conditions including rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.

Remove the chemical-heavy products from your skincare routine and switch to probiotic kefir skincare. Your skin is home to millions of bacterial ecosystems. Some of these microbes reinforce your skin’s natural barrier against bad bacteria, balance your skin’s pH levels and help prevent premature skin ageing.3https://www.forbes.com/sites/nomanazish/2019/03/30/why-probiotic-skin-care-is-worth-the-hype-according-to-experts/?sh=4a4db5611aa1 So it’s important you maintain a healthy level of these ‘good’ microbes and keep the ‘bad’ to a minimum. Using probiotics topically creates an optimal environment for the good bugs, swinging the balance in your favour against the bad bugs.4https://www.forbes.com/sites/nomanazish/2019/03/30/why-probiotic-skin-care-is-worth-the-hype-according-to-experts/?sh=4a4db5611aa1

  3. Move

Exercise is an important part of leading a healthy life, however, it seems that as we age, we’re less likely to exercise consistently. Research shows that only 39% of individuals aged 65+ meet the recommended amount of activity each week5https://imovedaily.com/exercise-and-aging-why-you-need-to-keep-moving/ (150 minutes of moderate activity a week6https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/exercise-guidelines/physical-activity-guidelines-older-adults/). So, why should you keep moving?

Studies show that physical activity can:
